Star International School Mirdif is a bespoke British Curriculum School situated in the Mirdif Community of Dubai offering EYFS, Primary and Secondary Education. We are looking to appoint a Head of Islamic Studies who has the enthusiasm, commitment and energy needed to work in a rapidly growing and improving school.
The Post
Due to continued expansion we are looking for outstanding teachers who are excited to join our family oriented school and display a passion for education. With the growth of the Secondary school we require an experienced Islamic Studies leader preferably with secondary experience. Applications are welcomed from teachers or existing heads of Islamic Studies who have a creative approach to curriculum delivery and who put the children first. The candidate will be able to put in place robust assessment and reporting systems and have experience of utilising data to track and monitor the progress and attainment of students. You will need to be self-motivated, have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be able to work well as part of a team.

Qualifications & Experience
Relevant teaching qualification: minimum of a BEd or BA/BSc
Secondary Islamic Studies experience (Preferable)
Excellent working knowledge of the Islamic Studies Curriculum in UAE
Experience of utilising data to track and monitor the progress/attainment of students
Experience of leading the assessment and monitoring of students across the Islamic A/B department (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience of teaching Islamic in UAE Schools with line management experience (preferred)
Experience of teaching IGCSE/GCSE or equivalent qualifications for Islamic
KHDA approval as an Islamic Studies Teacher preferred
Terms & Conditions
Contracts are for two years in the first instance and include:
Tax free salary
Accommodation or allowance
Free schooling for 1st child and 50% bursary for the second child
