Commence on a wonderful adventure at Mackay Christian College located in Mackay, on the eastern or Coral Sea coast, close to the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands, with reefs rich in marine life, rainforests and wildlife.
Mackay Christian College is a dynamic, leading school with enrolments of approximately 900 students in 2022. It is a multi-denominational School, Early Learning to Year 12 co-ed Christian day school committed to providing a safe environment in which students can develop academically, spiritually and socially through quality curriculum, modern facilities and dedicated, caring staff.
After the recent decision of Mrs Robyn Hopper, the much loved Head of Junior school, to leave MCC at the end of 2023, we are seeking applications for a new Head of Junior School looking to join our team in 2024.
The task of the Head of School at Mackay Christian College is to work as a Godly servant leader providing support and challenge to our college community (students, parents and colleagues) as we pursue our God given potential. The role of the Head of School is to provide quality education and care for students.

Position Requirements - Skills and Experience:
- Appropriate Tertiary qualification in Education
- Registration as a qualified educator - Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
- Experience/Ability in teaching from a Christian World View
- All staff are required to sign a lifestyle agreement as part of their employment contract
- Include a Christian testimony and a reference from a minister

About Mackay Christian College
Mackay Christian College is an all-through, co-educational school founded on Christian values. Located in Mackay, a town in tropical North Queensland, this school has approximately 900 students from pre-kindergarten through Year 12. Mackay was founded in 1984, so that families in the area could have a faith-based education option for their children. The school seeks staff who are innovative and highly qualified, and have strong faith-based values.

The school starts with our outstanding MCC Early Learning Centre which is also is a Registered Child Care Provider with an Approved Kindergarten Program. Students progress through to out Providence Junior Campus and then our King’s Park Senior Campus. Each campus offers modern classrooms with access to technology, and specialised rooms for music, film, art, drama, science, and woodworking. A large library and Faith centre also serve all students. They also have large areas dedicated to technical trades and agricultural studies, two areas of academic focus. Large sporting fields are also available, with cricket, football, and rugby being popular sports.
We are also in a unique position to have our own Mackay Christian College Trade Training Centre (MCCTTC) which offers a unique program for Year 11 & 12 students, who would like to add foundational, practical understanding and abilities to their skills set or who are pursuing a trade career. With strong industry links, experienced staff and a purpose-built facility, the MCC TTC allows students to develop their trade skills while working toward their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
Students, staff, and parents also benefit from a school app, where they can connect with one another and receive school news and updates.
Curriculum
Mackay offers a broad, Christian-based curriculum in line with the education guidelines for the state of Queensland. Students can choose from a range of electives, including arts, drama, or technical trades. Senior students can participate in a wide range of apprenticeships and programs that can prepare them for university or a trade.
