Head of Junior School Sport

An exciting leadership opportunity is on offer for an August 2022 start in our Junior School, leading a dynamic team of sports teachers in the Junior School.  The successful candidate will be responsible for providing world-class opportunities for all students from Year 3 - 6 in all areas of sport and healthy living. They will be an enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable leader of Junior School sport, who will work with the Director of Sport (Whole College) and other sport leads (Early Years and Senior School) to ensure there is a world-class sports pathway available to the students of the College.

The  Head of Junior School Sport is responsible for linking the Early Years and Senior School provision to provide a long-term athletic pathway for the students, whilst leading one of the focus sports in the Junior School. Applicants must be willing to lead by example and play a full part in the College’s pastoral care and extra-curricular programme.

The Junior School

Our Junior School caters for 880 enthusiastic learners aged between 7 and 11. We build upon the excellent foundations laid in DUCKS, and develop the depth of academic knowledge, as well as the life skills and mindset needed to prepare students for the best possible successes in our Senior School. We want children to leave Year 6 as motivated, independent and collaborative learners. Everything we do is underpinned by a culture of safety and wellbeing for all members of the community.

We value subject knowledge as a foundation for deeper conceptual understanding, delivered through an inquiry approach to learning. To support this every student has access to a device. Our curriculum and timetable values a breadth of disciplines that includes traditionally academic subjects as well as STEM and visual and performance arts. Teachers are supported to develop areas of expertise within this model.
