Stockport Grammar School is seeking an outstanding candidate to take up the role of Head of the Junior School. One of the oldest schools in the country, Stockport Grammar was founded in 1487 and has enjoyed a close relationship with the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths throughout much of its long history. The new Head will oversee the School’s strategic direction, including upcoming, exciting changes to the physical site, centring on new pre-Reception facilities. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to translate strategy into sustainable operational change. The successful candidate will have current or recent leadership experience at a senior level in the primary sector and will be responsible for managing and developing staff to uphold Stockport’s high standards of teaching and learning. The Head will also be expected to extend the reach of the School’s publicity and relationships through pupil-centric marketing and partnership with the wider community. The successful candidate will be able to command the respect of pupils, parents, and staff through excellent communication skills, demonstrable resilience under pressure, and fair-minded professional judgment.
