Required for September 2023

Walhampton is an independent preparatory day and boarding school for 370 boys and girls aged 2-13. The school lies in beautiful ancient woodland on the southern edge of the New Forest, near Lymington in Hampshire.

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Juniors to inspire a nurturing, happy industrious and creative atmosphere across all aspects of the Juniors for the children, the staff and parents. You will actively promote and safeguard the welfare of children for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. The Junior department covers Years 3-4.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, confident, enthusiastic, inspirational leader with drive and energy who is a graduate or equivalent and who possesses Qualified Teacher Status.

You should possess a clear educational philosophy, which has the happiness of the child at its core. You should also have an unswerving commitment to the academic, personal and social development of every child and understand the needs and concerns of the age group.

Candidates wishing to apply should complete an application form and send a letter of application, confined to one side, demonstrating how they meet the appointment criteria. All applications will be acknowledged and assessed against this criteria.

References will be taken up prior to interview unless a specific request has been made to the contrary.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 12pm on Monday 16th January 2023.

Interviews will take place at the School during week beginning 30th January 2023 (Provisional)

Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis and therefore we reserve the right to close the role on appointment.
