St George’s School seeks a well-qualified professional to lead our Key Stage 1 department, to start in August 2019. 

The School

Serving the international community in Duisburg-Düsseldorf for over 10 years, St George’s School combines an enriching curriculum with family orientated care. The school has grown from small beginnings into a thriving community of over 700 pupils, aged from 2-18 and representing a broad range of nationalities. 

The National Curriculum is taught throughout the school, and we offer the IB Diploma in our Sixth Form.

The Location

Located on a new, purpose built campus in the heart of Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region, St George’s School enjoys direct transport links to the cities of Düsseldorf and Duisburg, as well as to the greater Rhine-Ruhr area.

The Role

We seek to appoint an experienced lower primary school leader. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward thinking professional, who is able to build on the excellent work of their predecessor.

All pupils in our Early Years Department follow the National Curriculum. The core language of tuition is English with German language lessons provided to all pupils. 

The Head of Key Stage 1 is an important member of the school’s management team. This appointment requires an excellent communicator with a proven record in leading staff, whilst promoting whole school interests and requirements. Experience managing budgets, driving action plans, promoting pupil progress and welfare, as well as working closely with parents, is essential to this role.

According to local regulations, all our teaching staff must hold a recognised teaching qualification. This means either a graduate degree or post-graduate diploma in education. English language teaching certificates such as TEOFL or CELTA are unfortunately not valid.
