Health Futures is pleased to offer this post of Head of Learning Company. You will work to the KS5 Progress Leader and Line Manager within the Senior Leadership Team in providing leadership and management of the achievement, progress and pastoral provision for a Learning Company of students.
This role is the equivalent of up to 210 days per year (slightly more than term time only) not whole year. This is a full time role and the hours worked may require you to be flexible within a normal overall envelope of 8:00am to 5:30pm, if you have constraints on the times that you can be available please indicate this clearly in your application.
You will lead by example in all areas of the pastoral curriculum and monitor the standards of achievement, attendance, behaviour and welfare within your Learning Company. You will take responsibility for the pastoral care of students in the Learning Company and liaise closely with other Learning Company Leaders to ensure continuity and progression across the Key stages 4 and 5. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and experience while working with us so that your career can grow as we do.
Our state of the art facilities and technology will ensure you can engage with all stakeholders effectively and efficiently while also supporting the rest of the school community to do the same.
Established with the backing of the University of Wolverhampton and in partnership with a wide range of health sector employer partners, including all West Midlands NHS Trusts, WM Ambulance Service and the Mid-counties Co-operative Pharmacy, Health Futures is responding to the identified skills gap that is preventing local young people taking up the varied and valuable career paths in this sector.

Health Futures University Technical College (UTC) is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 14-19 secondary school, situated in West Bromwich in the West Midlands. The school has formed a unique partnership with 20 health, education and public sector organisations from across the West Midlands to enable it to combine national qualification teaching with hands-on project learning with healthcare professionals.
Health Futures UTC, the first UTC in the UK with healthcare and health sciences as its specialism, opened in September 2015 in a brand new multi-million pound building. Over 250 regional students interested in careers in healthcare and health science sectors joined Health Futures for the first time. The school is now accepting applications from young people living in Birmingham, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, Solihull and North Worcestershire who would like to join as Year 10 or Year 12 students.
