Are you looking for a new challenge and up for something different? If yes then Aldine House may have the job for you.   

Aldine House is a Secure Children's Home licensed to provide care, education and support to ten children and young people aged between 10 and 18.  As a specialist service we provide a critical first-line child protection and public protection service. Our children and young people need highly skilled and committed people who are able to build appropriate relationships and support them on their journey to a positive future.  

We are seeking to appoint a committed and focussed full time Head of Learning who will continue our drive to improve the attainment and well-being through implementing social and emotional aspects of learning through the curriculum to improve overall life chances of our young people.   

Preferably with previous experience either within the youth justice education arena, or specialist educational provisions dealing with emotional and behavioural disorders, you will be responsible for the organisation, supervision and running of the Education Department. You must have the ability to carry out the full range of duties required to ensure the smooth operation of the department whilst encouraging and assuring educational achievement and attainment, to a group of young people with diverse educational abilities.   

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate experience of delivering strategic school improvement, strong leadership throughout the staff, and evidence of success in raising attainment.  

You will report directly to the Service Manager for the Home and will be expected to report to the Education Advisory Board on a 3 monthly basis.
