Job overview
HEAD OF LEICESTER GRAMMAR SCHOOL
&
CEO OF LEICESTER GRAMMAR SCHOOL TRUST
Required for September 2019
This dual role is one of the most exciting and rewarding challenges that an experienced educationalist could take on, combining visible and warm leadership of the senior school with the strategic thinking and ambassadorial skills required of a CEO.
Leicester Grammar School Trust educates 1400 boys and girls in three day schools, located in glorious countryside some 7 miles from Leicester. The post-holder will be the leader of the Grammar School (10 to 18 year olds) and line manage the other two Heads of Leicester Grammar Junior School (3 to 11 year olds) and the recently acquired Stoneygate School (4 to 16 year-olds).
The Senior and Junior Schools are located on a stunning campus, constructed 10 years ago. Stoneygate, a mile away, was a traditional Prep School for over 100 years and now faces an exciting future as it starts to educate children up to GCSE.
The Grammar School itself offers an ambitious academic education, enriched by countless extra-curricular activities. The busy and innovative curriculum is delivered by outstanding, loyal professionals within a noticeably happy and caring atmosphere. The Trust as a whole is financially strong and governed by a collaborative and well qualified Board of 14 local Trustees.
The successful candidate will need to be an inspiring presence in the Senior School, with the pastoral and academic strengths of a great Head. He or she will be expected to build on the strong foundations and continuously look to develop the school further.
At the same time, as the Chief Executive, he or she will need to be an excellent strategist, possess strong financial acumen, be an engaging ambassador, and be someone who can empower and develop senior staff in order for the Trust to thrive.
Closing date for applications: Tuesday 29th May 2018 at 10am.
To have a more detailed conversation about the role with either Tony Evans or Russell Speirs, potential candidates are invited to contact Helen Flower who is coordinating the search.
