Notting Hill Prep School is looking for an ebullient and enthusiastic musician to teach and inspire a love of Music in the Lower School. The successful candidate will have good piano skills, be confident in front of an audience and, for example, relish the idea of involving the whole school community, parents and staff included, in an assembly song! 

Music and performance is in the very DNA of Notting Hill Prep and the performance opportunities our school offer grow more ambitious, imaginative and out of the ordinary by the year. To this end we ask that the Head of Lower School Music work in close collaboration with our Performance Director in choosing plays to perform, making musical arrangements, composing original music and programming spectacular, inclusive and uplifting concerts.

This would be a part-time position (3 days per week) starting September 2019 or January 2020.

Candidates invited for interview can expect to teach an observed lesson and/or lead an assembly, have a guided tour of the school, meet members of the Music Department and have an interview with the Head and another member of the Senior Management Team.

Notting Hill Preparatory School is a mixed, non-denominational independent primary school in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, serving students from the age of 4-13. The primary school, situated in Notting Hill has approximately 435 students on record.

Notting Hill Preparatory School opened in 2003, set up through the collaboration of parents and teachers. The school opened new buildings in 2009 and 2018, with facilities including a computer suite and specialist art, music and science rooms.
