Job overview

We are looking to appoint a permanent, full time Head of Mathematics to lead a team of dedicated staff in delivering consistently high-quality teaching and learning and to ensure all our students make excellent academic progress.

The department is comprised of seven members of staff, including the Head of Department. Currently there are six GCSE classes and one A-Level class. Our key stage 4 and 5 results have been on a three year upward trend, with progress 8 results in 2021 being +0.38. The Department benefits from a weekly timetabled collaborative planning period.

We have high expectations of staff, as we do of students, but we are a school where teamwork and enjoyment are central to our success.

We share a desire and understanding of how to succeed and aim to provide an environment that is stimulating to students and staff alike. We understand that this can only be achieved by investing in our staff and ensuring they are supported in their own professional development.

The successful applicant will be an innovative, motivational and experienced leader who will enjoy building on the success of the respected and well-resourced Mathematics department. You will be joining a highly skilled team with a genuine commitment to making a real impact on individuals through the highest standards of teaching and professional practice.

The Beaconsfield School has good road links to London, Reading, Maidenhead and Oxford – situated just 5 minutes from the M40 and a 10-minute walk from Beaconsfield Train Station.
