Head of Mathematics Department (Barra site)
a wonderful opportunity to lead a very successful and growing Mathematics Department offering Mathematics at KS3, IGCSE, and at both Higher and Standard levels in the IB Diploma Programme. We are looking for a dynamic, inspirational, well-organised Head of Department to develop Mathematics in the school and to build upon the very solid foundations that already exist. A sound subject knowledge and ability to teach to Mathematics Higher Level in the IB Diploma Programme is essential.
Applications from married teaching couples are welcome as are speculative applications since there may be other teaching opportunities within the school beyond the posts advertised.
The school is a non-profit co-educational day school of around 2200 students aged 2 to 18 years on three sites.
The Primary sections follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the Secondary sections follow KS3, IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes.
The above posts are offered with an attractive two-year contract (renewable), return airfare, housing and a full remuneration package.

The British School, Rio de Janeiro (TBS) was founded in 1924 and is a co-educational, non-selective, non-denominational, international, non-profit school serving students from the ages of 2 to 18 years. The school has an enrolment of around 2160 students across 3 school sites in the city of Rio de Janeiro: Botafogo (Primary); Urca (Secondary); and Barra (Primary and Secondary). Apart from Portuguese and foreign languages, all classes are taught in English.
