Job overview
Head of Mathematics
The Grange School is completing its exciting and successful transformation and is now actively seeking to appoint a highly motivated teacher to lead mathematics across the school.
This is no ordinary appointment since the focus across the Trust is on children’s understanding of mathematics, from Reception through to Year 13. This post is not about ‘driving up standards’ through target setting and heavy handed accountability. We are looking for an excellent practitioner who not only loves mathematics but who is keen to learn and to work with great colleagues within and across our schools.
You will be able to lead your own department whilst enjoying the support of the Director of Mathematics and be able to make a significant contribution across our family of schools.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an outstanding professional to join our exceptionally highly regarded Trust, situated in the heart of Christchurch, on the edge of the New Forest.
To apply, please complete an online application form and submit through Tes. For any questions please contact recruitment@twynhamlearning.com
Closing Date: 7 March 2017
Twynham Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

About The Grange School
About The Grange School
We are on a journey of rapid school improvement - recognised by Ofsted which awarded us a ‘good’ in every category when we were inspected under the challenging new framework in 2021 - and we are committed to ensuring we provide the very best education for every single one of our students.
The Grange School is proud to be a small, community school, which means students and staff across different subjects and year groups are able to form unique relationships and every child is known and understood as an individual. Our links with Twynham School through the Twynham Learning Trust of which we are proud to be a part of, mean that our students can enjoy access to the sort of curriculum offer, extra-curricular activities and opportunities and staff expertise associated with a much larger organisation. In other words, we have the best of both.
We are proud to be a fully-inclusive school in which all young people can thrive and become the best version of themselves that they can be. We believe in the power of education to change individuals’ lives, and that all children, irrespective of background or ability deserve the same opportunities that will enable them to enter the world with all the doors open to them and to fulfil whatever their ambitions are.
