The school has a key focus on staff well-being with numerous initiatives in place to support this. They include time for planning off-site for all teachers, active sessions in school alongside a range of workload reforms. We place significant emphasis on working collegiately as a staff to share our expertise and subsequently enhance the learning experience with our students. Every member of the staff is involved in a variety of professional learning programmes that take place every Wednesday across the academic year. All teachers are members of the Chartered College of Teaching providing access to the latest evidence and research.

We have also implemented a bespoke leadership programme enabling staff to develop their knowledge and understanding of leadership. Mathematics is a key part of the curriculum and looks to develop wider problem solving skills alongside the mathematical knowledge required for their future. This successful department is a friendly, hard-working team, committed to stimulating student interest and enjoyment in their studies. Moreover, outstanding examination results have been sustained consistently over a number of years. The strong team ethos of collaborative planning and shared resources enables students to make excellent progress in mathematics across all key stages. Recent Ofsted reports have commented that “The teaching of mathematics in the sixth form is outstanding” and that “teaching in mathematics is a strength of the school”. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated and innovative leader who will add value to this already thriving curriculum area. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Head of Mathematics to complement and lead our enthusiastic and knowledgeable team. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a desire to build strong relationships within the team and across the school. 

The post will start in September 2022 but we would look to have an earlier start date where possible.
