Job overview

Head of Mathematics

Laude San Pedro International College is an extremely successful, well-established co-educational day school, and we seek to appoint an inspirational Head of Mathematics. Our school has excellent internal and external examination results, but we continuously strive to improve on the outcomes for all of the students in our care.  Learning is at the heart of everything that we do.

The school is located just south of Marbella in the beautiful seaside resort of San Pedro de Alcantara and we are part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), with sister schools throughout Spain, Europe, South America and the Middle East. We are very fortunate to enjoy such a diverse community and have 52 nationalities within our community.

The Maths Department is extremely successful and has a very experienced and professional team of teachers.  The subject is one of the most popular at A Level and it is held in very high regard by families and students alike.  One of the pupils achieved the highest mark in the world at GCSE last academic year, and the department runs the Maths Challenge annually as well as participating in many enrichment activities.

We want to appoint a motivated, positive colleague with a passion for maths to advanced level, who will support the students and staff so that the academic standards continue to excel at every level.  So if you have leadership experience and are hoping to support and develop the learning in a strong academic team of dedicated colleagues this is the ideal post for you.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Spain and be fluent in English.

The School

  • We are known as one of the leading British International Schools in the region
  • Fully accredited by NABSS, the Spanish Ministry and listed as one of the top 100 International Schools in Spain (El Mundo), we are also a member of ACADE.

  • 846 pupils aged from 3 years to 18 years
  • We are well established and were founded 14 years ago
  • A history of pupils going on to study at universities around the world
  • Located in a purpose built campus in the beautiful town of San Pedro de Alcantara, 10 minutes from Marbella and 50 minutes from Malaga
  • Knowledge of Spanish, or willingness to learn Spanish would be an advantage

Welcome to Laude San Pedro International College

Thank you for your interest in our School. We hope that this career site will give you a sense of the amazing opportunities that we want for all of our staff, as well as the inspirational impact each member of our community has upon the development of the School.

Laude San Pedro International College is an inclusive school with a programme focused on academic excellence, teaching the British National Curriculum - from age 3 to 18 - and, from age 12, offering the possibility of studying the Spanish ESO and Bachillerato curricula (with up to 65% of classes in English). We have a strong focus on academic standards - our GCSE and A Level results, as well as the Spanish Selectividad, are well above national averages in both countries. It is a highly international environment with students of over 50 nationalities enjoying a unique learning environment designed to meet their needs. All our UK curriculum teachers are native English speakers and have many years of experience in the UK and abroad.

We are part of the global education group ISP ('International Schools Partnership') one of the largest education groups in the world. As a global group of schools, our students benefit from being part of a wider international community which offers many additional learning and cultural opportunities.

Our excellent facilities include an artificial turf football pitch, two multi-sports courts and a gymnasium with changing rooms for over 400 people. We also have state-of-the-art digital learning facilities including four computer rooms, a multimedia lab and a graphic design room, as well as the latest technological devices (iPads, Chromebooks and interactive whiteboards). Innovative science labs to support the science curriculum through to A-Levels and dedicated rooms for drama, food technology labs and a new radio studio. We have a large 200-seat dining hall with its own kitchen where school meals are prepared and an extensive library to encourage our pupils to develop an interest in reading and research.

We offer a unique and incredible educational experience to each one of our students, which we call “Amazing Learning”: having the ability to improve day by day, and be amazed at everything learned, whatever the starting point was. We work so that the student feels happy and motivated in an environment that generates confidence.

Music, arts, technology and travel are celebrated in our school, giving each child the opportunity to embrace their creativity and develop their confidence through different activities created for their personal development beyond the classroom.

Our values

Our vision is that every child will achieve more than they dreamed possible, in a happy and inclusive environment where everyone is supported and encouraged to excel.

In addition, our whole community shares a common understanding of the personal qualities and values which we hope all of our students will demonstrate and uphold.
