The governors and the sponsor of the academy, Northern Education Trust, are now seeking to appoint a Head of Mathematics to lead the department across the age and ability range. 

In 2018 we achieved our best ever GCSE results.  This places us as the top school for Progress 8 in Stockton Local Authority.  The percentage of students achieving a grade 5 in maths increased by 20 percentage points to 66% with 76% achieving a grade 4.   With our new state of the art academy building which opened in April 2016, this would be an exciting time to join our team and work alongside our other outstanding middle leaders.

• Monitor and track student progress within each year group.

• Work with the Principal and Senior Leadership team to develop and implement the vision for the Academy, ensuring targets are achieved.

I would like to wish you a warm welcome to Northern Education Trust’s – The Grangefield Academy website.  I am both delighted and honoured to be the Principal at The Grangefield Academy and consider myself very lucky to interact daily with the students who are polite, enthusiastic, hardworking, ambitious and, most importantly, proud to be part of The Grangefield Academy and Northern Education Trust. This sense of pride is evident in every aspect of day to day life at The Grangefield Academy from the exemplary standards of uniform and behaviour both inside and outside of the academy to the high participation rates in the extensive range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities on offer. 

I hope you already share, or will come to share, my belief that The Grangefield Academy is an exceptional place to attend as a student or to work in as an adult.  At The Grangefield Academy we demonstrate a daily commitment to our high expectations and have a no excuses culture as we prepare our students for the challenge of a rapidly changing world.

We recognise that our students have different abilities, needs and interests and we provide a broad and flexible curriculum which is regularly reviewed.  We have an excellent staff base which ensures that students achieve their full potential regardless of their starting points. In 2018, The Grangefield Academy GCSE results were significantly above national average and had a progress 8 score of +0.57 which was in the top 3% nationally.
