The College has an exciting opportunity available to join our top performing Management Team in the key role of Head of Maths, English and ESOL.

This role is key across the College and works with all Heads of Department and College Managers to ensure the success or our students in Maths and English.  The post requires an enthusiastic and committed Head of Department who understands the wide and varied requirements in these areas and has the determination and dedication required to meet the high standards we set for students and staff.

The successful person will play a key role in driving the College’s Maths, English and ESOL provision and in particular the growth strategies in these areas.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
