We are looking for a passionate Head of Mathematics to join our friendly school in Cheltenham.

About the Position

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Salary: St Edward's operates its own Salary Scale and Renumeration will be dependent on experience and skill set.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing effective systems for curriculum planning, enabling the needs of our pupils to be met and targets to be achieved
  • Managing the development and production of an appropriate curriculum
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of learning and teaching and responding as appropriate
  • Ensuring that systems are in place to monitor, evaluate and improve the continuing professional development of individual and working groups
  • Negotiate and agree targets and develop the appropriate support for teams and individuals
  • Identify resources needed to support the implementation of school policies
  • Play an active role in the selection and appointment of new staff
  • Part of this role will involve safeguarding responsibilities including the reporting on any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Team


About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A specialism in Mathematics
  • Experience in leading and managing staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team but also able to use their own initiative
  • A flexible and co-operative attitude
  • Efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources
