Humberston Academy is now recruiting for Head of Maths.

Our Maths department has performed consistently above national average in all examinations delivered. The department thrives on good humour and teamwork, delivering a knowledge rich curriculum in well-resourced classrooms.

The successful applicant will be part of a team that has a variety of specialised teachers, all offering support and guidance to each other, which creates a positive and hardworking ethos. They go above and beyond to ensure all students achieve.

We are therefore looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to deliver Maths up to KS4.

At Humberston Academy we are passionate about providing a traditional curriculum which not only develops life skills but prepares each student for adulthood and a successful career.

Students in the academy show a real enthusiasm for Maths and are acutely aware of the link between the subject and the world of work. About our Academy

Humberston Academy is an oversubscribed ‘outstanding’ academy located in an affluent area of North East Lincolnshire. As well as being an outstanding academy, Humberston Academy achieved ‘World Class Schools’ status in December 2019. Humberston Academy continues to deliver incredible opportunities to young people with a specific focus on STEM enrichment and favourable links to the apprenticeships industry as well as traditional route towards higher education.

About the role

• High standards of teaching and learning

• A good degree in a specialist subject teaching qualification

• Nationally recognised teaching qualification

• High level skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to teach Maths across Key Stages 3-4

• A strong classroom teacher, demonstrating ability to innovate

  •  Understanding of current curriculum issues in relation to teaching Maths.

• Able to show evidence of the use of technology in teaching and learning

• Be flexible and responsive to a changing educational environment

• Contribute to whole school initiatives

• Committed to working co-operatively with young people; able to communicate sensitively, imaginatively and effectively with them

• Able to communicate effectively with parents to represent the Academy positively and feedback information as appropriate

• Willing to contribute to the professional development

• Highly motivated and driven by passion and spirit for the subject

• Enthusiastic and prepared to work hard

• Honest and trustworthy

• Good organisation and time management skills
