We are looking for an inspirational and forward thinking Head of Media who will lead the department to an outstanding level of performance.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is committed to inspiring and motivating students through their innovative and engaging teaching. The candidate should have the ability to teach both the theory and technical side of the qualifications we offer at Hollyfield.

The successful candidate should ideally be qualified to teach Media Studies at BTEC, GCSE and A Level. Being able to teach Photography would also be an advantage.

This is an exciting time to join the school and be part of a hardworking and dedicated team of staff who are determined to give our students the skills, confidence and knowledge necessary to thrive in the future.

As part of the role the candidate will also be expected to lead on the schools social media strategy and produce school promotional material.

The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:

● QTS;

● a broad base of subject knowledge;

● the ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5;

● a track record of success in middle leadership;

● a clear vision for a knowledge-rich curriculum;

● a clear understanding of successful classroom practice and evidence

based teaching;

● employs a range of teaching and learning strategies;

● the ability to work effectively as part of a curriculum team;

● the ability to maintain good classroom behaviour;

● effective interpersonal skills;

● able to demonstrate suitability to work with children and young

people.
