Job overview

Give every student the language skills to get ahead.

www.hays.co.uk/jobs/markhall-academy

What happens when you put together students who enjoy learning, staff who are ambitious for every pupil, a curriculum that inspires and a rigorous programme for training and developing teachers? In a word, success. At the heart of Academy Transformation Trust, Mark Hall Academy is a school that’s going from strength to strength. Since joining the Trust, we have increased the proportion of pupils gaining five GCSEs at Grade A*-C, including English and Maths, by 20%. Today we are rated Good with Outstanding behaviour. Tomorrow we intend to be Outstanding full stop. We need you to take us there.

Teaching French and Spanish from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 and preferably some German to KS4, although this is not essential, you will bring the country into the classroom and share your love of speaking and learning a foreign language with our pupils in order to develop fluency from the minute they arrive. More than just an exceptional classroom practitioner, you’ll be a thought leader in Languages – rapidly evolving your department and placing us at the forefront of innovation and best practice. You’ll make sure that no child is left behind and that every student enjoys clear direction in order to ‘Aspire, Endeavour, Achieve’.

You will go the extra mile to ensure languages are for everybody by making learning interactive, fun and accessible to all. You will play a key role in helping pupils to achieve the E-Baccalaureate because we want them to have a suite of skills to help them compete and succeed against the best in a globalised world.

You can be certain that we will give you the support to make your ideas reality.

We actively encourage visits to the Academy. Please contact the Brett Coventry on 020 3818 7041.  To learn more and apply online, please visit www.hays.co.uk/jobs/markhall-academy

We will interview candidates on a continuously rolling basis, so please apply as soon as possible.

Closing date: Friday 09 June 2017

Please note that this position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check and that your qualifications will be verified.

About Mark Hall Academy

Mark Hall Academy has now moved to a state-of-the-art new campus offering truly twenty-first century facilities for teaching and learning. This is an exciting new beginning for us – and for your career.

We’re an exceptionally friendly school, where students and staff love to work hard and achieve great things together. Self-improvement is at the heart of everything we do – we excel in sport, drama and community engagement, supported by a lively and stimulating programme of extracurricular activities.

As our Principal puts it, “As an academy, we will equip all our students with the skills, attributes and qualifications to progress to college, university, employment and happy, successful lives. Education has the power to open doors and transform lives, and that is what we aim to do here.”

Having been rated Good by Ofsted at our last inspection, we’re on our way to Outstanding. In the words of Ofsted:

“Leaders, managers and governors have improved the school significantly since it opened as an academy. Their commitment to raising standards is clearly having an impact. Pupils’ behaviour and attitudes towards their learning have been totally transformed since the school’s opening.”

To discover what sets us apart, you need to visit the academy for yourself. Please get in touch to make an appointment to meet our Principal.
