We are looking for a Head of MFL in a school which offers excellent opportunities for professional development. This role is to start on 29th August 2018, but an earlier start date may also be possible. 

Ealing Fields High School is the most recent member of the Twyford Trust family of schools. It was opened as a Free School in 2016 by a group of parents with a strong desire to provide an excellent new school for the South Ealing community, and became part of the Twyford CE Academies Trust on 1st September 2017.  Ealing Fields has quickly assimilated the same systems and resources as the two existing Twyford Trust schools (William Perkin and Twyford CE High Schools, both of which are Ofsted ‘Outstanding’).  Ealing Fields is also the smallest of the Trust schools, with only 120 in each year group and therefore has a very compact community identity.  Relations between staff and students are very positive and it is easy for every member of the school to be well known by all of the staff. Staff joining at this time are likely to have a highly motivated drive towards building an outstanding school community within an already highly successful Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative teacher and curriculum planner who is ready to take on departmental leadership, and the successful candidate will have responsibility for building the department in terms of curriculum planning and progress monitoring. The Head of MFL will ensure that the quality of teaching and learning in the department is consistently high and will contribute to the development of a culture of sharing good practice. Additionally, they will be responsible for the delivery of a rich wider learning offer in MFL.

The post-holder will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with an ability to lead training in teaching and learning.  S/he will be an experienced curriculum and assessment planner, and will have experience of achieving outstanding student outcomes across a range of abilities and be an excellent analyst of student performance data.  S/he be enthused by the prospect of leading and managing others to achieve common goals.

Ealing Fields High School, Ealing

Ealing Fields High School opened in September 2016 and joined the Twyford Trust on 1st September 2017. The school has two year groups (7 and 8), totalling 240 students. The staff community, though still small, is very positive and highly motivated. The school will move into its new building during 2019-20 but until then will remain situated in temporary accommodation in Wyke Gardens.

About Ealing Fields High School

Ealing Fields High School was opened as a Free School in 2016, and became part of the Twyford CE Academies Trust on 1stSeptember 2017. Ealing Fields is the smallest of the Trust schools, with only 150 in each Year Group and therefore has a very compact community identity. The staff community is very positive, highly motivated and fully engaged in professional development. The school moved to its brand-new permanent sitein Northfields in September 2020 and achieved a Progress 8 score of +1.34 with its first set of public examinations in 2022 which reflects our relentless commitment to providing the best possible education for all students.

The Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (TCEAT) is a compact CoE MAT which comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. Over a 10 year period it launched three new schools Ealing Fields, William Perkin and Ada Lovelace all of which have achieved progress outcomes ranking them in the top 1% of schools nationally, making TCEAT the highest attaining Trust in the UK.
