Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning & Accrington & Rossendale College. We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Head of MIS (Management Information Systems) to join our MIS team on full-time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week.

This role will be predominantly based at Accrington and Rossendale College but travel across other College sites may be required.


Main duties include:

  • Lead the activity of the Enrolments & Registry, Exams and ILR teams
  • To liaise effectively with all staff across the College to design and develop processes and documentation which meets the needs of curriculum, minimises bureaucracy and complies with funding and audit guidance
  • Develop systems to assist the college in moving towards digital based MIS systems reducing paper-based processes and unnecessary bureaucracy 
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate and complete timetable information on the MIS system
  • Ensure that the work of the Enrolments & Registry, Exams and ILR teams are fully compliant with all legal, funding bodies, GDPR and audit regulations


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant subject area
  • Experience of effectively leading/managing a team, inspiring loyalty and motivating others
  • Evidence of successful management in a relevant discipline (MIS, Examinations, ILR)
  • Experience of working with a wide range of reporting systems, compiling accurate and detailed information for Senior Management
