Head of Modern Foreign Languages
Teachers Pay Scale (MPS/UPS), plus TLR £6,825pa, permanent.
We seek to appoint a forward thinking and motivated individual to lead our Modern Foreign Languages Department. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining high standards and ensuring inspirational teaching. This role also involves responsibility for assisting the Head of EBacc Faculty in monitoring and improving the quality of teaching and learning, assessment and feedback.
Education to degree level with QTS status is essential, as is recent experience of leading, or assisting with leading a department. You will be a qualified teacher of Spanish ideally with the ability to teach French as a second subject. This job requires an up to date knowledge and understanding of the curriculum and assessment, reporting and recording processes relating to MFL, plus a clear understanding of the elements of outstanding teaching and learning.

The Queen Katherine School is situated on the edge of the stunning Lake District; we are an 11-18 Academy with approximately 1000 students. The school was rated Good by Ofsted in March 2022. Our results reflect the school’s incredible success: top 7% in the country for A level (grades A-B) and top 25% for Progress 8 at GCSE.
