Doha College is a high profile leading British International School, for children aged 3-18, offering a well-balanced, all-embracing curriculum that follows the UK National Curriculum. We are also the first High Performance Learning accredited school in the world. With consistently outstanding educational achievements and excellent examination results at all levels, Doha College will be expanding over the next two years, to meet the ever increasing demand for places at the college and grow into a 10-form primary and 10-form secondary school operating across two campuses.

We are now looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Head of Modern Foreign Languages to start in September 2019. As the Head of Modern Foreign Languages, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a big department, with responsibility for monitoring and evaluating student achievement, as well as contributing to accomplishing the College’s vision and mission. We currently offer four foreign languages: French, German, Spanish and Arabic at both IGCSE and A Level. The department also offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including Film and Cooking Clubs as well as a vibrant mentoring programme. Educational trips to Germany and Spain as well as having a well-established exchange programme with a French partner school are also integral parts of student learning experiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing and supporting a team of staff to raise standards and will also be an advanced practitioner, who sets a standard that other teachers look to emulate. The ideal candidate should have the ability to teach German to GCSE and A-level and another language, preferably French or Spanish, to GCSE or higher.

Our classrooms are equipped with interactive smart-boards used by students and staff for a range of activities. In addition to that, all students at Doha College are furnished with an iPad upon entry.

A high standard of written and spoken English is an essential requirement for all our positions. Applicants should be willing to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision including extra-curricular activities.
