Head of Music and Music Technology

Fortismere SchoolHaringey

We are delighted to be able to offer the post of Head of Music and Music Technology.  We are looking for an experienced teacher of music to work alongside the Director of Music to lead and  continue to develop our school music department.

Our aim as a school is to transform the lives of our students through a broad and personalised curriculum and through the many enriching experiences made available to them;  school music is at the heart of our vision.

Staff and students alike are rightly proud to be part of our inclusive and aspirational community. We are truly reflective of our local area and as a community school enjoy a great reputation both locally and nationally. We are proud of links we have with international partners for example working closely with a school in Delhi and being one of the first schools in the country to be part of the Mandarin Excellence Program.

Music is housed in its own purpose built centre with teaching rooms, numerous practice rooms and a music hall for performances. The rooms are well equipped with instruments and iMacs allowing for both music and music technology teaching. Music and Music Technology are taught at all Key Stages in the school and our students achieve above national results each year.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS prior to appointment.
