Are you an inspirational teacher looking to join a well-established, supportive team in a successful and expanding school? The British International School Shanghai, Puxi Campus is looking for an exceptional Head of Music across the whole school. As a qualified teacher you will be a fluent English speaker, familiar with the UK curriculum and confident working with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. You will be an excellent communicator and confident with technology; someone who gets on well with colleagues, students and parents. Amongst other things, you’ll be well organised, have a good sense of humour and will want to participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life as well as the classroom.

Leading Music at the school is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students. Our learners are from a wide range of backgrounds, from around the world. You will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and learning, managing and leading colleagues as well as encouraging a culture of inspiration, enjoyment and success.  You’ll also be responsible for ensuring that there is a thriving Music programme outside the curriculum, realising our philosophy of being ambitious for all of our pupils. You’ll encourage students and colleagues to get participate in the wide range of bands, orchestras and choirs. HOW TO APPLY

Applications should be made via the Nord Anglia Education recruitment website at www.jobtrain.co.uk/nordanglia and should contain a CV, letter of application and the details of two professional referees-one of which is your current Headteacher/Principal. All post holders in regulated activity (having regular unsupervised contact with children) are subject to appropriate national and international vetting procedures including satisfactory criminal record checks from both Country of residence/birth and any Country of residence within the last 10 years.

The closing date for applications is Friday 30 November 2018. However, successful short listed candidates will be contacted straight away with initial discussions conducted remotely by telephone or Skype prior to the final deadline.  A second round of interviews will take place soon after the initial contact either by phone or in person at the Nord Anglia Recruitment Fair in London in the week beginning Monday 21 January 2019.
