Location: St Thomas More Catholic School, Croftdale Road, Blaydon-on-Tyne, NE21 4BQ 

Grade: MPS 1-6 / UPS 1-3 and TLR1b (£28,000 - £43,685 + £10,712 per annum)

Hours: Full Time, Permanent 

St Thomas More Catholic School is a co-educational Catholic Academy which provides for the education needs of 11-18 year old pupils from the west of Gateshead L.A. We are part of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and have a strong commitment to Catholic Education.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Music to join St Thomas More Catholic School. The successful candidate will be a strong classroom practitioner who has the ability to motivate young people of all abilities and will be able to work well in a team.  We aim for the successful candidate to start in September 2023. 

We are seeking an individual to: 

• To provide professional leadership and management for the Music department.  
• To provide a high quality educational experience for all students to raise the levels of attainment and achievement.  

The successful candidate will have the ability to: 

• Inspire, challenge, motivate and empower teams and individuals to achieve 
• Demonstrate personal enthusiasm and commitment to leadership aimed at making a positive difference to children and young people 
• Manage and resolve conflict 
• Prioritise, plan and organise self and others in addressing strategic direction of the department

• Demonstrate impact and presence 
• Show commitment to sustain excellent attendance at work
