As Head of Music at Evelyn Grace, you will join the Principal and continue to develop the academy together, and thereby realise the ambitions in building an outstanding school. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about education as a means of helping our students become cleverer and kinder everyday.

Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching in music and securing excellent outcomes. We believe that all our students can achieve excellence, no matter what their background and that they all deserve the very best teachers and resources to help them secure the very best qualifications. Accordingly, the Academy offers a rigorous curriculum and a broad enrichment programme for students at all key stages. Music is a particular passion for many of our students and a large number benefit from individual music lessons.

As a member of Evelyn Grace and the Ark network, you will receive regular CPD, 10 inset days a year, including network best practice sharing days and Academy marking days, and you will work in an award-winning building designed by Zaha Hadid.

We are located a 10-minute walk from Brixton tube station and a 5-minute walk from Loughborough Junction mainline station.

Ark Evelyn Grace Academy is an 11-16 mixed secondary school, located at the heart of the London Borough of Lambeth. We are a community school and part of the Ark Network. Our mission statement is to empower our students to be the voice of their future. This is based on the belief that each young person is different, difference should be embraced, and each young person has a unique contribution to make and should be given a voice. Through finding their voice, young people can lead empowered lives where they have choice, agency and influence. We are focused on the future as we want our young people to be the face of it.

Through providing a nurturing environment, a high-quality education and a wide range of experiences and opportunities, we enable all our young people to have choices over the direction of their lives. School Structure

The school has a small leadership team that comprises of the Principal, two Vice Principals and two Assistant Principals. Each subject area is lead by a Head of Department and year groups are led by a Director of Learning (Head of Year).
