Job Purpose

We are looking for a well-qualified , energetic and enthusiastic colleague to lead our ambitious and highly skilled Music department.

You will need to have the knowledge, skills and creativity to be an outstanding teacher and leader, and the ability to teach your specialism to GCSE and A level. If you have a focus on raising student attainment and a passion for Music, and are looking to work in an environment that values the learning of students, we would welcome an application from you.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Develop plans for the department which identify clear targets, time-scales and success criteria for its development and/or maintenance in line with the College Improvement Plan;
  • Inspire, motivate and lead the music department to achieve even greater success;
  • Display flair and creativity in engaging, enthusing and challenging groups of students;
  • Use your own class as an example of high quality teaching and learning where students are enthusiastic and respond positively to challenge and high expectations.
