This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Music to join our dedicated team where every child is encouraged to achieve his or her full potential in a dynamic and creative environment.
You will provide professional leadership and management of the Music Department from Early Years to the end of KS2, ensuring it provides an exciting, high quality and innovative music education with personalised learning for all pupils.
You will be responsible for the musical life of the School through curricula, extra curricula, concerts, music assemblies, community events, choirs and the production of School shows and concerts.
You will manage music specialists and any other peripatetic music teachers, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate your team.
You will be an inspirational and confident teacher with a passion for working with children and to encourage learning in innovative ways. You will be an accomplished pianist and must also have experience in other instruments, including string, recorder or singing.
Applicants must have at least 3 years relevant experience of teaching music to children in KS1 and KS2.
The role is full time during term time. You will need to be flexible to ensure effective extra curricula music is provided including individual and group instrumental lessons in piano, strings, woodwind and singing until 6.00 PM. Occasional additional hours will be required to cover performances, open days, evening recitals and other special events.
