RGS Worcester is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational Head of Netball with a clear philosophy for the development of Netball in a co-educational day school. The successful candidate will be required to establish an inclusive and forward-thinking Netball Development Plan for the infrastructure of RGS Netball.
Netball is well developed at RGS. We have a very competitive fixture list to challenge our pupils and an extensive Games and after-school training programme. The School is very proud of our recent achievements in the sport, including reaching the National Finals in two age groups. Our Sports facilities are superb, with four outdoor netball courts, two indoor Sports Halls, Fitness Suite, Dance Studio and a full-size floodlit all-weather pitch. Most of our playing fields are within walking distance of the School and there are also 50 acres of grounds at RGS The Grange, which include additional netball courts.
Our recently renovated fitness facility has allowed us to develop a modern and forward-thinking Strength and Conditioning Programme and the successful candidate will have an important role to play in developing our provision for netball players of all ages in this department. There are also exciting facility developments that will only assist with the netball provision we can offer in the future.
Although not essential, there may also be the potential for further involvement in other sports for the right candidate, as well as the opportunity to teach both curriculum and academic Physical Education. RGS teaches A Level Physical Education, the Level 3 BTEC Sport and will also be introducing GCSE PE in 2020-21.
Interviews for this post will be held on Monday 9th March 2020.
Applications: All candidates are required to apply via the TES online application form (no CVs will be accepted). RGS Worcester is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Early application is actively encouraged. Suitable candidates may be called for interview early and we reserve the right to close the position at any time. The final closing date for this role is 24th February 2020.
