Head of PE

Smart Teachers is recruiting for an experienced Head of PE to join a ‘Good’ mixed secondary school in Brent, North West London. Starting after October half term, this is a fulltime long term role until the end of the academic year, with the potential of being extended. The successful Head of PE will benefit from the school’s excellent facilities including a well sourced PE department. • Leadership and management of the Physical Education faculty across KS3 andKS4
• Ensuring that the quality of teaching and learning is consistent and top of the agenda
• Management of faculty resources, materials and teaching environment
• Support and lead the professional development of staff as teachers and in their wider professional roles
• Fulfilment of standard expectations of PE teachers to make the education of pupils the first concern and be accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct
• Daily rate from £150 up to £180

In order to be considered for this role, the Head of PE will need to meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor of Education/ PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree
• Ideally some experience in leading a department but not essential
• Proven experience teaching the UK curriculum
• NQTs and/or OS-trained teachers welcome to apply?
• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
