Head of PE

Required for September 2020

Applications are invited for the post of Head of PE at High March. The right candidate will have the vision, experience and commitment to further develop an exciting and modern approach to PE across the school (Nursery to Year 6). Our curriculum currently includes; netball, swimming, hockey, football, dance, gymnastics, athletics, cricket, rounders and mini tennis and teaching across the school is an essential feature of the role. 

High March is a leading girls’ preparatory school with an excellent sporting reputation, strong academic reputation and outstanding pastoral care. There are two forms in each year group and class sizes are small. A state of the art indoor, heated swimming pool was opened in 2009 and there are facilities onsite for the teaching of a range of sports. Our swimming teams often have significant success in the Division 10 regional swimming galas. The Year 6 ‘A’ Netball team has consistently reached the national finals of the IAPS Netball tournament and girls in Years 4 to 6 regularly compete successfully in the local swimming league. Most recently, four girls reached the British Modern Biathlon Championships in November 2019 and one pupil reached the final of the national gymnastics competition.

Applicants should be keen to take an active part in the wider life of this vibrant school and should be committed to our inclusive ethos which encourages every girl to reach her personal best. We will offer a generous remuneration package, dependent upon experience, which will include a leadership allowance. This post is not suitable for NQTs.
