Job overview

We wish to appoint a talented and inspirational Head of PE Department from September 2022. The successful candidate will be able to teach across the age and ability range, up to and including BTEC/GCSE, and be able to demonstrate experience of leading a department.

The successful candidate will join a strong and supportive team of teachers who are dedicated to ensuring the students experience achievement and success throughout their school life. Our PE facilities include a modern Sports Hall, Dance Studio and extensive outdoor space. Sport is a popular subject at KS4. 

Belvidere is a successful, oversubscribed 11-16 comprehensive school in the county town of Shrewsbury. Students at Belvidere make excellent progress, and we are looking for someone who will share our high expectations for all students.

Based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Belvidere School is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school for children aged between 11 and 16. It is a non-denominational community establishment. At present, there are approximately 850 students enrolled at the school.

In Summer 2024 we will be moving into a brand new state-of-the-art school building, which is an exciting development in the life of our school.
