The Cavendish School is very proud to be relaunching as a brand new academy in September 2018, as part of the Future Academies Trust. The successful candidate will be an exceptional teacher and an inspirational leader with a commitment to professional development. You will be responsible for ensuring every student achieves academic excellence.
To support the relaunch of the school, the Headteacher is providing five full INSET days at the start of the academic year. This will provide the opportunity for every teacher to have comprehensive training around all aspects of their role in order to start the year feeling confident and fully prepared.
As we join Future Academies we will need to grow our EBacc offer in our curriculum throughout the school. With this in mind and a higher intake for our Year 7 in September 2018, we will need to increase our staff body in certain subjects.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, determined and creative Head of Department. This is an exciting full time opportunity to work alongside our Director of Learning within a professional and collaborative faculty team. We pride ourselves on being an approachable and dedicated Physical Education faculty, who deliver engaging lessons in which our students are able to thrive.
We are committed to all students making progress and the sharing of ideas, good practice and innovative resources. We currently deliver Edexcel GCSE PE, Cambridge National in Sports Science, BTEC Performing Arts (Dance) and OCR A-Level PE.
The successful candidate will have;
- A passion for teaching Physical Education and enrichment opportunities;
- Experience of teaching KS3 – KS5;
- A firm understanding of the new GCSE & A-Level PE reforms, including NEA procedures;
- The ability to demonstrate the facilitation of engaging and challenging lessons;
- The highest aspirations & expectations for students, yourself and our school.
- Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills
