Job overview

Due to a change in staffing structure, an exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a well-qualified, committed and motivated teacher to lead this highly successful department.  We have a track record of excellent academic results in GCSE, A Level and BTEC courses with many of our students going on to study sport related subjects at Russell Group Universities. The school has an excellent reputation for sporting achievement and plays a very active role in the wider community, participating locally and nationally in many disciplines. All students are encouraged to engage in a variety of sports activities through our extensive and popular extra-curricular programme.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership, vision, subject knowledge, and be able to teach across a range of PE to all ages and abilities.

Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school.  We are accredited with ‘World Class Schools’ status giving us recognition that we have moved beyond our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted status and have improved student progress, aspiration and achievement to such an extent that our students rival those of the best schools’ nationally and internationally. We were the first school in Wirral and Merseyside to have been awarded this quality mark.

The school consistently achieves significantly above the national average in examination results and has positive scores for both Progress 8 and Attainment 8.  We offer an outstanding programme of CPD for all staff. Weatherhead is committed to a culture of excellence and we are looking for an individual who shares that ethos.

We are pleased to offer a pre-application visit on Tuesday 25th January 2022 from 4.00 – 5.30pm when there will be an opportunity to meet with senior staff, ask questions and take a tour of the school to fully appreciate the extensive facilities at Weatherhead.  If you would like to visit, please contact us via email: schooloffice@weatherheadhigh.co.uk
