Head of Personal Development Behaviour & Attitude (Full Time, Full Year)
Working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday for the full year (52 weeks) a degree of flexibility is required.
You will be responsible for Behaviour team, Careers and Progression Leader, Fitness Studio Coordinator and the Security Team (outsourced).
- To create a safe, disciplined and positive environment where students have the best opportunities to achieve.
- To ensure learning environments endorse the appropriate achievement behaviours required for success.
- To effectively manage the security and behaviour teams, to maintain primary and secondary boundaries, patrol the building and grounds, challenge any unwanted behaviour and support College initiatives.
- To consistently and extensively promote the personal development curriculum through a wide and rich set of experiences for students that supports learners to develop their knowledge and skills beyond their academic, technical or vocational studies.
- To provide an effective careers programme that offers advice, guidance, experience and contact with employers to encourage learners to aspire, make good choices and understand what they need to do in order to reach and succeed in their chosen career.
We are looking for a candidate who ideally:
- Has experience of successfully managing student behaviour and security teams in a sixth form college/FE school setting.
- Has experience of managing a successful careers department, including experience of providing work placements for students.
- Has a Level 4 qualification in Assessor/Coach or the desire to undertake coaching training and development.
- Has a Group 3 Safeguarding qualification or the desire to undertake the Group 3 Safeguarding qualification.

Luton Sixth Form College is a specialist Sixth Form College, providing academic and general vocational education for 16 to 18 year olds in Luton.
Established in September 1966, we are the oldest Sixth Form College in the country and have an enviable reputation for quality and excellence. We are also one of the largest, with more than 2,800 students taking a vast array of A Level and BTEC courses.
Our mission is to provide an outstanding education for young people at the College, and to work with other local providers to ensure that there are opportunities for all young people in Luton to succeed and progress.
The College is located in a quiet residential area in the north of Luton, with easy access from the town centre, A505, A6 and M1. Our site was redeveloped between 2008 and 2010 and the original grammar school buildings were replaced by a £56m campus offering state-of-the-art facilities and modern resources for staff and students.
