Head of Philosophy and Religious Studies

Melbourne Grammar School is one of Australia's leading boarding and day schools, offering exceptional education to all of its students. The School is organised into three campuses to meet the needs of different age groups. Our Junior School, Grimwade House (Prep to Year 6) is located in Caulfield, and is coeducational with 680 girls and boys. The Middle School, Wadhurst (Years 7 and 8), and Senior School (Years 9 to 12) are in South Yarra and cater for 1,120 boys - day students and boarders.  

Melbourne Grammar School is seeking to appoint an experienced teacher as the Head of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Senior School, providing leadership to Faculty staff and the teaching of these subjects. This role will work closely with Heads of Subjects and other key Senior School staff members, and take ownership for the innovation, strategy and operations of the Faculty.  

The successful applicant will be experienced in teaching Philosophy and Religious Studies at a senior level, have demonstrated knowledge of the subjects within the VCE and Australian Curriculum frameworks, and hold a desire to contribute openly and engage in the community life of the School.
This position will also have a teaching load, which is regarded as a significant aspect of the role.   

Remuneration will be in accordance with Melbourne Grammar School's salary scale. Registration or eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching is essential.
