Job overview

This is an opportunity to lead the PE and Creative Arts Faculty from January 2017. You will have the drive and passion to develop the Faculty, aspiring to achieve outstanding outcomes for students. With other colleagues you will expand upon the extra-curricular opportunities available across the PE and Creative Arts Faculty.

It is essential that you have the ability to teach boys PE across Key Stages 3 and 4. You need to have flair and passion for your subject and be able to inspire our students to achieve their ambitions in subjects across the Faculty. You will support and line manage our Art and Music departments and will lead on developing teaching and learning across the whole Faculty.

IES Breckland is a school for children aged between 11 and 16 and an important part of the community in Brandon. In the value added measure last year, we featured in the top 5% of schools in England.

Ofsted, November 2015 said “The Principal, supported by an effective leadership team, has overseen a period of enormous improvement in the school” and “Pupils are well known as individuals. Their welfare is a priority for the school”.

Breckland School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Brandon, Suffolk. It is run by Sabres Educational Trust.

There are 550 students on the school roll, aged from 11 to 16, expected to grow to 600 in a few years. Breckland School has well-established links with local primary schools and post-16 providers. The school offers a variety of enrichment activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award, as well as local, national and international trips and visits.
