Leicester Grammar Junior School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Head of PE and Games from September 2020. We would like to engage someone to head up our hardworking and committed PE team, who is happy to play a full role in the life of the School.
PE and Games fulfil a major part in our curriculum and we recognise the value to the health and wellbeing of the children. We are therefore looking for a confident PE/Sport specialist primary teacher with particular strengths in Boys’ Rugby, Hockey, Football and Cricket. Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of leading a PE/Games Department in a Primary aged setting to continue to develop this key and successful department within the School.
Leicester Grammar Junior School is an independent co-educational day school for children aged 3-11. We occupy a purpose-built, well-facilitated building with outstanding sports’ facilities on our shared campus with Leicester Grammar School. Our children benefit from on-site swimming pool, astro-turfs, hard courts and playing fields.
The successful applicant would be in charge of delivering outstanding PE and Games across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. We welcome applications from qualified teachers with a relevant degree and teaching qualification; teaching swimming is an essential part of this post.
An application form and job description are available on our website, www.lgs-junior.org.uk/vacancies or from the School (0116 25 9 195 0).
The completed application form and curriculum vitae, accompanied by a covering letter addressed to Mrs Caroline Rigby (Headteacher of Leicester Grammar Junior School), should reach the school as soon as possible, and no later than 9.00 am on Wednesday 20 November 2019. Interviews will take place on Friday 29 November 2019.
Applications should be emailed to Mrs Erica Parsons, HR Administrator, at email@example.com
There is no need to send a hard copy at this stage.
Leicester Grammar Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Agency check.
