About the school

Nord Anglia International School Al Khor (NAISAK) is a 3-18 through school with 1000+ pupils currently on roll. Secondary is 4-form entry at Key Stage 3, and 3-form entry in KS4 upwards, with approximately 420 students aged 11-18. Our school resides in the town of Al Khor, 35 minutes north of Doha (the capital of Qatar). We educate both local and expat students through a bespoke Secondary curriculum which draws on both the English National curriculum and the Qatar Ministry of Education curriculum.

The school prides itself on fostering student wellbeing, personalisation of learning and a strong sense of multiculturalism and global citizenship.

Global academic results

The 2021-2022 school year was one of the strongest ever in terms of Nord Anglia Education’s academic results. For the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, our students achieved a 35.1 global point average, far exceeding the global average of 31.9. A third of students eared a perfect score of 45. In the A-levels, our students achieved 60.5% of grades at A*-A, along with 77.3% at A*-B. The group’s latest IGCSE student cohort, consisting of 2,351 students across 41 Nord Anglia schools, achieving an outstanding set of results, with 52.8% of grades at 9 – 7 for the year and 90.8% at 9 – 4.

About the role

Join our dynamic international education environment, where you will lead the delivery a fit-for-purpose curriculum, built on the UK National Curriculum and preparing students for external examinations at IGSCE/AS-A levels. You will lead the development of a culture in which students are challenged to be ambitious learners and teachers are required to be innovative to enhance the student experience and outcomes. You will understand the diverse international language environment within our school community to manage effective curriculum programmes to not only teach Physical Education subject content, but also continue to support English language development in a Physical Education context.

You will contribute to good practice by demonstrating a collegiate approach to departmental development and sharing strategies with colleagues.

You will oversee the development and delivery of an after-school sports programme which will include student participation in competitive team sports.

Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement, and personal investment within the classroom.

You will have the following:

·      university degree in your specialist subject

·      teaching qualification

·      substantial teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum

You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Qatar, including possession of a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching qualification from a face-to-face (non-online) course.

Our curriculum model and international accreditations

A Nord Anglia Education school since 2012, NAISAK prides itself on being a British curriculum school with a global outlook. Our 3-18 education begins with the English EYFS Framework. We then deliver a bespoke Primary curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England but tailored to meet the needs of our local and international students. Secondary students study for iGSCEs, AS and A levels, providing the best possible preparation for university entrance. NAISAK holds Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA) as well as British Schools Overseas (BSO) status.
