Job overview

Perryfields Academy is a vibrant and inclusive school where we are very proud of the ongoing successes and achievements of our students. Our vision is one where students aim to achieve the very highest standard they can, and everyone is supported to maximise their potential.

The thread that runs through everything we do at the school is our desire and commitment to ensure that there are opportunities for everyone, whilst supporting them to achieve excellence.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, inspirational and experienced practitioner to join and lead our Physical Education department. This post is payable on the Teachers’ Pay Range according to qualifications and experience.

Applicants should have excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of outcomes. Prior middle leadership experience is desirable but by no means essential. In return, we offer a thorough professional development programme and strong support from the senior leadership team.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and highly skilled Physical Education team who are committed to delivering a curriculum that’s accessible to all. The departments vision is to:

“Deliver a high-quality PE curriculum which promotes a healthy active lifestyle and lifelong participation. Pupils will develop their confidence and skill in a wide range of activities which enables them to succeed and excel in competitive situations and physical activities”.

It is an exciting time to be joining the PE Department at Perryfields. Students currently study OCR Cambridge National - Sport Studies in year 10 & 11, and have recently recruited their largest cohort of students. Our most recent academic data identified ‘the average point score was in the highest 20% nationally’.

If you’re passionate about improving life-chances for students and if you’d like to be a part of our dynamic team, we want to hear from you. Please click the apply button to be taken to our careers portal.

Closing date: 8.00am on Monday, 6th February 2023.

Interview date: w/c 13th February 2023.

This Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Please note successful candidates for all Broadleaf Partnership Trust vacancies will be requested to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service, although a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining the position.
