At Bridgwater College Academy, as a result of significant and sustained investment in our sports facilities, we have a Sports Development Centre providing facilities for our students during school hours and affordable leisure provision for our local community during evenings and weekends. In addition, we are about to open a gym at Bridgwater College Academy for students, staff and community use.

As well as developing and delivering our vision for sport, you will demonstrate outstanding teaching and coaching, responsible for maximising student participation by providing a diverse and engaging curriculum across secondary phase. You will also contribute to the wider business success of the Sports Development Centre, ensuring that we offer and deliver extra-curricular opportunities for our students and overseeing the provision for the local community.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about developing sporting excellence. They will need to have the drive and ambition to build upon our sporting successes.The successful applicant will be expected to actively promote our BCA core values of:

Bridgwater College Academy is the only all-through mainstream Academy in Somerset and opened in 2012.  Student numbers are divided equally between Primary and Secondary phases; we also have a nursery provision too. The Academy was the first sponsored Academy within the Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust, which now hosts seven Academies and is itself set to continue to expand in the future.
