Job overview
Head of Physics
We are seeking to appoint a committed and experienced individual as Head of Physics. The Physics department is one of the strongest in the country with ten full time physicists covering a wide range of research interests and backgrounds. We pride ourselves on our openness and support for each other’s teaching, and our willingness to contribute ideas and make suggestions on the best way to approach any topic. We also have two full time technicians who help us to integrate the practical aspects of physics with the more theoretical. The position would suit a serving Head of Department or an experienced teacher with a track record of transferable experience. The successful candidate will have a strong academic profile, excellent subject knowledge and the ability to stretch our best and brightest students.
The School’s salary scale is substantially above the national scale.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 4 March 2025.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
