Head of Primary Seria Campus (Principal)

International School Brunei requires a Head of Primary (Principal) for our Seria campus for August 2023 onward. This position suits an experienced and ambitious Head of School or Senior Leader who is committed to the highest standards of education and who can demonstrate leadership and management skills compatible with ISB’s vision, mission and values. Key to the role will be to provide vision, leadership and sound educational and management for the school as well as being a major force in contributing to the overall development of the whole school as part of the Senior Management Team. The Head of Primary in Seria deputises for the Executive Principal when required and is supported by the Senior Management Team. 

Established in 1964, International School Brunei (ISB) has over 50 years of experience as a non-profit, vibrant, inclusive school. The Head of Primary in Seria will demonstrate a range of qualities, qualifications, skills, and experience which will enable them to build on the past achievements at ISB, continue the growth of inclusive education and educational pathways through the school and ensure that students of all backgrounds, nationalities, cultures, and abilities feel challenged in a supportive environment. 

The successful applicant will show the ability to think strategically, will be skilled in team building, leading and motivating staff, and will possess a high level of operational efficiency. Most importantly, the successful candidate is expected to have a proven track record in recognising and promoting highly effective teaching and learning and will have experience in leading teams to ensure that educational outcomes are outstanding. 

The successful candidate will have (required): 

·      Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 

·      PGCE or equivalent teaching diploma 

·      Senior leadership experience 

·      Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders 

·      High attention to detail, organisation and time management  

The successful candidate could have (desirable): 

·      Prior knowledge of current teaching pedagogies and strategies for excellence in inclusive education

·      Further degree or qualifications in Educational Leadership 

·      Experience in managing budgets 

·      Understanding of successful recruitment and retention processes for international education
