Job overview

Croydon High has been delivering an outstanding education since 1874 and yet is innovative, flexible and firmly focused on the future, preparing girls to meet the challenges of the modern world. Over the last two years, we have developed an excellent Progression and Futures (formerly known as ‘Careers’)  programme focused on our pupils’ aspirations for the future.

We are looking for someone to deliver the Progression and Futures programme and to make further strategic developments in our delivery of Progression and Futures education. In this key role, you will track each pupil’s progress throughout the School and beyond, and develop exciting and productive partnerships with alumnae and external organisations, such as companies, businesses and agencies to help our pupils become genuinely ‘real-world ready’ and prepare themselves for life beyond the classroom.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering an exciting and engaging Progression and Futures programme centred around our pupils
  • Providing excellent and personalised advice and support to each pupil at every stage, particularly at key decision-making points around GCSE, A level and university (or any other option pupils wish to pursue as school leavers)
  • Collaborating with the Head of PSHE to develop a skills-based careers education programme for KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Working closely with senior leadership to ensure all opportunities to promote Progression and Futures, and support pupils on an individual level, are taken
  • Delivering a programme of events and interactions so that pupils gain access to employers and Higher Education to broaden their experience and knowledge of the opportunities available
  • Participating actively as a member of the Sixth Form Team to ensure that personalised support is provided to Sixth Form students at this crucial stage of their lives

You may not necessarily have worked in a school but will be an ‘educator’ in a global sense and will understand how to inspire, coach and guide young people, while leading a ground-breaking programme and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in our pupils, giving them the confidence to take, and to create, opportunities for themselves.

We welcome applications from those with a wide variety of backgrounds.
