Head of Pupil Care

We are seeking to appoint a talented, experienced and highly effective member of staff to the post of Head of Pupil Care. If you are an external candidate for this position then the ability to teach English, Science or Humanities is highly desirable.

The successful candidate must be proactive in their approach and be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and sensitivity. The appointed person will be able to translate their own high expectations to others through their daily practice, and through professional development activities, on a regular basis.  

The role involves: 

• Leading on all matters relating to pupil care, personal development and well-being across the whole college, including arranging support and intervention for pupils, as well as providing the relevant professional information, advice and guidance.

• Planning and managing induction and transition arrangements between curriculum years/phases including programmes of support and intervention.

• To support the work of the College’s Senior Teacher (i/c designated safeguarding officer) on matters relating to the safeguarding of pupils and other aspects of her role.

The main purpose of the role is to help ensure our young people thrive in a safe and caring environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of key professionals and parents/carers and make a difference to the lives of our young people. Previous extensive pastoral management experience is essential.
