London Enterprise Academy is a Free School at the heart of London’s vibrant East End. The Academy opened in September 2014 with year 7’s only, in a former glass office block, that is now fully renovated to a high standard. The Academy has a capacity for six hundred students aged 11-16. It provides a stimulating education and personalised curriculum within a supportive environment. All of our students are encouraged to stretch themselves to achieve their potential.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher ready to take on a leadership role, take on the responsibility, and implement improvements in Teaching and Learning. The ideal candidate would be an experienced practitioner, ready to take on a lead role in the creation of a transformational school community by developing an enriching, exciting KS3 & 4 curriculum which leads to outstanding progress and attainment in your subject. To lead a professional community of subject teachers to ensure consistently excellent teaching and high standards across your department.

The successful candidate for the Head of RE & Citizenship will :

  • Work in close collaboration with the Head of Faculty for Humanities, advisory tutors and staff teaching RE & PSHE/citizenship to ensure all staff deliver RE & PSHE consistently, effectively and confidently.
  • Design an engaging and challenging RE, PSHCE and Citizenship curriculum & resources that enables all students to achieve at the highest level.
  • Lead and manage a professional community of subject teachers to ensure the highest student attainment and progress, delivering training, coaching and mentoring to your team of teachers as required.
  • Put in place the systems and structures at a department level that lead to 100% good and outstanding teaching within your department (with a focus on outstanding).
  • Tracking, monitoring and accountability for the progress and attainment of students.
  • Ensure marking and feedback for students work is of the highest standard across your department.

London Enterprise Academy is a mixed-gender secondary school for children aged 11-16, based in Tower Hamlets, East London. This free school was established in September 2014 and it opened with approximately 120 Year 7 pupils. It was set up by several school leaders and is managed by the London Enterprise Academy Trust. The school is open to children of all faiths and religious backgrounds.

Teachers at London Enterprise Academy aim to help students to achieve every success academically and as an individual within the community.
