HEAD OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION - required for September 2018
“English Martyrs is an Outstanding Catholic School” (DCI, April 2015).
The governors seek to recruit a Head of Religious Education to this over-subscribed 11-18 Catholic school, enriched by its Arts specialism. The school is very successful with an ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form and ALPS ‘2’ both for A level and GCSE.
Religious education is a very popular subject at the heart of the curriculum and accredits well at GCSE and A level with students regularly continuing to study Theology, Religious Studies and Philosophy at University. We offer an extensive programme of spiritual life opportunities including retreats, pilgrimages and a well attended weekly Voluntary Mass in the School Chapel.
The school moved into greatly enhanced accommodation in September 2014 and now has beautiful facilities for the Arts, Sports, Sixth Form and Inclusion. The musical life of the school is a particular strength.
- A well qualified practitioner with a profound understanding of and commitment to Catholic education?
- Excited by the prospect of teaching well motivated students?
- Keen to contribute to the school’s vibrant Spiritual life?
- Able to develop exciting learning styles for Religious Education?
